It is snowing again, so I took a break from my day and stepped out for a bit. I love when it snows. If you listen closely you can hear the geese flying overhead. Just Beautiful Conditions.

This week I share with you my thoughts on how the process of executing your ideas is so important to reaching your goals. I share with you 4 key points to help you stay focused and maintain momentum.

4 keys to Executing Your Ideas to Achieve Your Goals:

• Defend for yourself what is vitally IMPORTANT, Manage the urgent then return to the one activity that is critical your progress

• Strive to participate or spend your time doing ONLY key activities that lead you closer to your goals

• We become what we measure. Establish a clear means to measure your efforts.

• Build a system of accountability.

Both of these personality types can negatively impact your team’s performance. Everything cannot be urgent and important, even if you say it is. If you say it enough, your employees will learn to ignore you. Equally toxic is being excessively optimistic. Your people need to know when there is true cause for concern so they can respond appropriately.
The ultimate outcome of being a leader is to cultivate your employees as leaders. The key is to serve. By overcoming these toxic personal behaviors, you can lead by example and then get out of the way so your team members can achieve a higher level of success, both personally and for your company.

4 //    Micromanaging Lack of trust is the culprit here. You want to be involved in all the details of the workflow, which you call “hands-on” but your employees might define as micromanaging. Call it what you like, but is your approach a genuine desire to help or a sign that you don’t trust your [...]
